RCA JET STREAM DIGITAL MEDIA PLAYER
OFFERS WIRELESS FREEDOM FOR
WORKOUT CROWD

New Player Uses Kleer Wireless Technology to Eliminate Headphone Wire Tangles

NEW YORK, September 19, 2007 – RCA Audio/Video is solving the "tangled wires syndrome" that slows down athletic workouts with the new RCA Jet Stream digital media player, which incorporates Kleer wireless technology to seamlessly deliver crystal-clear music from player to earphones without wires. The new $139 (suggested retail price) RCA Jet Stream digital media player will be available in October.

Tangled earphone wires are the most annoying part of using a digital music player while exercising, according to a recent study conducted by Harris Interactive® on behalf of RCA Audio/Video**. Half of adult men (51%) age 18-34 say they use a digital music player when working out, with four in ten (41%) reporting problems with earphone wires getting tangled.

Better than wireless technology used for cell phones, Kleer uses less energy than other wireless options, minimizes interference from wireless devices, and delivers stereo audio with the equivalent high quality of a wired version. The comfortable silicon earbuds receive the signal from a built-in antenna on the Jet Stream with 10 hours of wireless earphone playback from a single charge – enough for more than a week of hour-long workouts.

"We know that active consumers want an easy answer for wireless workouts," said Dan Collishaw, Chief Operating Officer of RCA Audio/Video. "The RCA Jet Stream was designed with the workout enthusiast in mind. It delivers high quality music and is the ideal splash-proof exercise companion with features such as a pedometer and calorie counter.

"The Harris Interactive poll points to another important opportunity for manufacturers of music players, with nearly 40 percent of adults surveyed also reporting that they don't yet own an mp3 player. We are targeting athletic adults with products like Jet Stream that provide enhanced features and capabilities," Collishaw explained.

Part of the RCA Gem Line of digital media players, the Jet Stream (model S2501) features a splash-proof case and integrated stop watch, pedometer, calorie counter and body mass index calculator that all combine to make it a complete companion music player for workouts. Readings are clearly legible from the player's bright, full-color one inch multi-line OLED screen, which also displays photos and videos.

As a music player, the Jet Stream provides users with a palette of features to supplement mp3 playback. Additional supported audio codes include WMA and Audible, and because the player also supports WMDRM-10, it is compatible with many secure music download and subscription-based services. The 1GB flash memory offers users storage for up to 340 songs*. Since flash memory uses no moving parts, users are ensured of skip-free operation even while jogging or working out.

More than a digital music player, the Jet Stream also packs a digital FM tuner with 20 presets, giving users easy access to their favorite radio stations. If listeners like what they hear, they can push a button to record from the radio in mp3 format. Later they can download recorded content to a PC using the supplied USB 2.0 high-speed interface.

Adding value to the affordable package is a bundled accessory kit that includes a workout armband, wristband, and both wired and wireless Kleer earphones.

** MethodologyThis survey was conducted online within the United States by Harris Interactive® via its QuickQuerySM online omnibus service between September 4 and 6, 2007, among 2,321 U.S. adults aged 18 years and older, 670 of which use a digital media player while exercising. Data were weighted to be representative of the total U.S. adult population on the basis of region, age within gender, education, household income, race/ethnicity, and propensity to be online. With a probability samples of 2,321, one can say with 95 percent certainty that the results would have a sampling error of +/- 3 percentage points. Sampling error for data based on sub-samples would be higher and would vary. However, that does not take other sources of error into account. This online survey is not based on a probability sample and therefore no theoretical sampling error can be calculated.
